WELCOME OUR TWO NEWEST GIRL SCOUT SISTERS

Our Girl Scout family is growing. We just got two new girls joining our troop!

We are so excited to welcome Elizabeth into our Troop.

Elizabeth has joined us on a few of our outings and everyone enjoyed having her around. So, we were all thrilled when she finally officially joined our troop.

She is so full of life and fun. She is going to make a wonderful addition to our group.

Plus, Brittnee also joined today! How exciting is that!

Brittnee also joined us on other outings and everyone had a blast with her too. So, when she officially joined we were all over joyed to welcome her to our Troop.

Brittnee is a sweet, kind and funny girl that will bring a lot of joy to our Troop. Welcome Brittnee.

Since we had a Cookie Booth sale today both girls got to join us. It was their first cookie sale but you would never have known it.

Each new girl spent 1/2 the cookie sale with either Jesse or Trinity and then switched the other half.

By getting to spend some time with Trinity and Jesse they got to learn the ins and outs of Cookie Booth Sales.

When Trinity and Brittnee teamed up they made up a song and sang it to the customers. It turned out to be a big hit because a lot of people stopped to listen and smile at them and of course couldn't resist buying a few boxes of cookies from them.

Trinity was quick to tell everyone her favorite cookie was the peanut butter patties. I think those who were not sure what kinds of cookies to buy listened to her because they would always get at least one box of the peanut butter patties.

Jesse was good at asking the customers if they wanted to donate their change. This seemed to work well because more often then not they said yes! Way to go Jesse.

The girls have gotten really good at selling the cookies. They are not shy at all. They work on getting that up sale by reminding customers that since they have a $20 in their hand they could buy 5 boxes of cookies rather then the 4 they thought they wanted.

I'm so proud of our girls! They just keep working so hard and never complain about it. In fact, they all said they thought it was fun.

Of course it is. Anytime they get together with their Girl Scout sisters is fun!

OUR FIRST COOKIE BOOTH

The morning started out with rain. A chance that we may have to cancel our first cookie booth sale.

But then, the clouds blew away and the sun came out. Even if it was only for the two hours we held our booth sale. It was long enough for us.

We met at Albertsons and quickly set up our booths. One at each door.

Trinity at one booth.

Jesse at the other.

The greeted everyone with big smiles and asked the customers if they would be interested in buying some cookies.

Many stopped and picked up a box or two. Some acted like they didn't hear the question and just kept walking. Most people were very friendly though.

For those who didn't want to buy cookies for themselves, the girls explained they could donate to send cookies to our Military troops over seas.

As the cookies were sold, more cookies were brought out.

When asked what their favorite cookie was, Trinity said "Peanut Butter Patties couldn't be beat".

Jesse said "I love the new Shout Outs".

Our two hours went by quickly. We talked to a lot of people and sold a lot of cookies.

The time was over before we knew it. Though, not a moment to soon. As we packed up for the day, the heavens opened up and the rain came down in buckets.

Our first booth sale was a hit. We made a nice chunk of money for our Troop and for The Girl Scout Council.

Our next booth sale will be next weekend. They say it's going to rain then too. Sure hope we have the same luck and get a time that the rain stops.

OUR WORLD THINKING DAY CELEBRATION

February 22nd is Girl Scouts World Thinking Day. It is a day where Girl Scouts all over the world think about our Girl Scout sisters and what life would be like in other countries.

Since we were not going to be meeting on the 22nd we celebrated our World Thinking Day at our meeting.

The girls were told to pick a country they wanted and to bring in a dish from that Country. It turned out we had France and Italy at our celebration.

The table was set with a theme from France. Pink Poodles and Eiffel Towers scream France.

Inside the little box was a watch, a bracelet and a finger puppet for each girl to take home. They also got their very own Pink Poodle, an Eiffel Tower and stickers.

While we waited for everyone to get there, horns were blowing and laughter was heard through out the room.

Then it was time to say the Pledge Of Allegiance, the Girl Scout Law and Promise.

Even though it is fun to wear silly hats and gloves, the girls know when to be serious and saying the Pledge of Allegiance, The Law and Promise is that time.

A perfect example of having fun and being well behaved is Jesse in her hat as she places her paw...oh, I mean hand over her heart as she says the Pledge of Allegiance.

I love this picture!

For dinner we had a yummy Antipasto salad and bread that Nikki brought to celebrate Italy.

A wonderful chicken pasta dish and more bread that Jesse brought. She also picked Italy as her Country.

Then we enjoyed great French Chocolate Eclairs that Trinity brought. Her Country of choice was France.

After we ate and worked some on our Pet Care badge, it was time to make our World Thinking Day craft.

I wasn't sure if the girls would really enjoy this craft but I was happy to see they did.

We made a Passport! First we talked about what a Passport was and why one would use them.

Even though the real Passports are a dark blue we made our Passports pink!

Inside we put info about several Countries. The girls learned about each Country and we talked about different food, names and what life would be like in those Countries.

Of course, we love to show off our creative side. So, once the Passports were made, I brought out all the stickers, shinny stones, glittery items and so on so the girls could make theirs a one of a kind Passport.

They enjoyed having the info inside too. That way, they can decide where they want to go to when they are older.

It was another fun meeting and we learned a lot.

So for now, I will just say Ciao, Au Revoir or, as we in America say, Good Bye!

THEY HAVE BIEBER FEVER!

Well it looks like our Girl Scout Troop is going to be growing! We have three new girls wanting to sign up.

So, we took them along with us to see the new Justin Bieber 3D movie.

We got to the movie early so we made a stop to For Goodness Cakes.

Then we spent some time outside having fun and the girls all tossed a coin into the fountain and made a wish. Some how I got the feeling they were all wishing for Justin Bieber to show up at the movie theater in person.

With a toss of the coin, wishes were made. Each taking a minute to wonder if their wish will ever really come true.

The girls then struck a few poses for the camera.

Why I do believe... there could be a few modeling contracts down the line.

I'm not sure but I think Jesse brought some Pet Shop animals and the girls played with them for a few minutes.

While others entertained themselves other ways.

Soon they were running around, giving rides to each other.

It's fun to have friends to play with.

They tried and tried to make a pyramid.

But, each time they ended up laughing and falling down.

So, they thought it would be better to play other games.

After playing around for awhile, the girls wanted to go shopping.

So many cute things were found.

Don't the girls look just darling! See, I told you they could be models.

We finally made our way into the movie theater but it was to early to go inside.

The girls didn't want to just sit around and wait. They all wanted to go to the arcade and play some games.

It was all smiles and laughter in there.

They had so much fun there that it was a little bit hard to get them out of there to line up for our movie.

The games quickly ended when they were reminded Justin Bieber was waiting for them.

With popcorn, candy and drinks in hand, the movie soon started. There he was!

Justin Bieber, singing his heart out. It was almost as if he was right there in the room with us.

The girls all rocked out and sang to his songs.
Everyone had a blast!
Once the movie was over, we took one last look at Justin and the girls flashed the "I love you" heart sign to him.

Sadly, the camera had a flash go off and the poster shows up with a glare.

However, I'm sure there will be six little girls dreaming about Justin singing to them tonight.

Baby, baby,baby...
