The night was all a glow! As you looked around you noticed how dark it was. Almost to dark to see. Yet, there was color all around. Everyone and everything was glowing. We were at the Glow in the Dark Dance.
There were several stations for the girls to stop at before they entered the dance area. They got their faces painted with glow in the dark face paint.
They had to stop and get the paint activated so it would glow. Since there was no sunshine or bright lights to activate the paint, they had flashlights that they would shine on the area painted.
There was glow in the dark tinsel that got tied in their hair. This didn't work out to well though. It was hard to get it tied and then once it was in it fell out pretty easy.
The girls made glow in the dark bracelets. There were glow in the dark nail painting and glow in the dark hair spray stations but, the girls didn't want to have those things done.
Our troop had lots of glow in the dark items to wear. The girls turned the glow in the dark sticks into a necklace, hats, glasses, bracelets and many other shapes.
There was pizza, cupcakes and lemon aide to keep the girls full and quenched their thirst.
The music was loud, everyone was dancing and having a lot of fun!
There was glowing hula hoops and glowing balls being played with too.
Even the cups they had lemon aide out of was glowing. Lots and lots of neon colors were everywhere.
It was very pretty.
Yes, even the frosting from the cupcake that got smashed onto the nose of our co-leader, Michelle's, face was glowing. Don't worry though, it was her own daughter that did this and Michelle just laughed about it.
I have to admit, I'm very surprised I was able to get any photos to come out. It was very dark and there was a fog machine going on, flashing lights, black lights and I was sure all the pictures were going to be just a big bunch of nothing. So, while these are not the best photos, I'm happy they came out at all.
It was really fun to see the girls having so much fun and dancing. They were hooting and hollering and even screaming, they were having such a good time.
I really enjoy seeing the girls having such a great time. They were all so good and well behaved. I always feel so proud of "my girls". They do get noticed for how well mannered they are and for how much they get along.
I've had several other leaders tell me they wished their troops were like ours. I just puff up like a mother hen and beam with pride when they say things like that. I know it really has nothing to do with me though and it's all how well they are being brought up at home. Yet, I still feel great joy when "my girls" get compliments like that.
It seemed like we just got there and then they were saying the party was over and it was time to go home. It's so true when they say "time flies when you are having fun".
So ended another night, full of memories for Troop 746. I hope everyone has sweet dreams and that those dreams are in neon glow in the dark colors.
